To enable myconvento to analyze traffic to your website, you must embed the tracking code into the site you wish to monitor. You can find this code within the Website Tracking section via the "Code" modal.

The code is a JavaScript snippet. It executes on the website and transmits technical information to myconvento - such as the page visited, the referrer, and the screen resolution.

Copying the code

In the "Code" modal, you will see the complete JavaScript code for the selected website. You can copy the code directly using the "Copy to clipboard" button.

Ensure that you use the code for the correct website. The code contains a unique identifier that allows myconvento to attribute subsequent visits to the appropriate website.

Inserting the code into the website

Insert the copied JavaScript code into the website you want to track. Ideally, the code should be embedded in the template or layout that loads on every page of the site. This ensures that the entire website is tracked, rather than just individual pages.

If you use a content management system (CMS), the code can usually be inserted in the section designated for header, footer, or tracking scripts. If your website was custom-built, the person responsible for technical maintenance should embed the code into the page template.

What the code captures

The tracking code transmits data such as the URL of the page currently being viewed, the referrer, and the screen resolution. myconvento uses this data to generate reports on metrics such as page views, visitors, entry pages, browsers, languages, operating systems, and screen sizes.

Verifying the installation

After installation, you should visit the website yourself and then check the Website Tracking section to see if the initial visits are being recorded. Depending on processing times, there may be a slight delay before the data appears in the reports.

Summary

The tracking code connects your website to the Website Tracking feature in myconvento. Copy the code using "Copy to clipboard" and insert it into the website to be analyzed. Ideally, the code should be embedded globally in the page layout so that all relevant pages are captured.
