Getting Started with Website Tracking

The "Website Tracking" module allows you to track how your connected websites are used.

The "Website Tracking" module allows you to track how your connected websites are used. You can see which pages were visited, how many visitors were active during the selected period, and the technical specifications they used to access your site.

This module helps you better understand your website usage. For instance, you can identify which pages are visited most frequently, which browsers or operating systems are used, and the language settings of your visitors.

Select a website

At the top of the module, you will find the "Websites" section. Here, you can select the connected website for which you wish to view the analysis. The websites available here depend on which sites have been set up for your account.

If you are tracking multiple websites or landing pages, you can use this selection to switch between the individual analyses.

Set the time period

Use the "View" section to control the time period you want to examine. You can analyze data by day, week, month, or year. Then, select the specific timeframe - such as a particular day, month, or year.

Click the "Show" button to update the analysis. This allows you to quickly check how your website usage has evolved over different periods.

Understanding key metrics

At the top, you can see key metrics at a glance. These include page views and visitor counts for the selected period, as well as current figures for today (visitors, page views, and unique page views).

Page views indicate how often pages were loaded. Visitor counts give you an idea of how many distinct users have accessed your site. Unique page views help you better interpret multiple visits to the same page.

Analyzing visited pages

In the "Which pages do my users visit?" section, you can see which pages were accessed most frequently. The list displays details such as page views, anonymized IP addresses, referrers or entry points, operating systems, and languages. This allows you to identify which content is particularly relevant and which entry pages visitors use to access your site.

Depending on the widget, you can open a more detailed view by selecting "Show all".

Using technical insights

Website tracking also provides technical information about your visitors. This includes, for example, the most common operating systems, browsers, languages, and screen resolutions.

These insights help you better tailor your website to actual usage patterns. If many visitors use low screen resolutions, you should prioritize a good mobile or compact layout. If specific browsers are frequently used, it is worth testing your site thoroughly on them.

Set up a new website

You can prepare an additional website for tracking by selecting "Set up new website". The information required for this - and your ability to use this feature - depends on your permissions and account configuration.

Customize page

You can modify the dashboard layout via "Customize page". This allows you to determine which metrics are most important to you and how you wish to use your website tracking dashboard.

Summary

Website tracking shows you how your connected websites are being used. You can select websites, define timeframes, check page views and visitor numbers, and analyze technical data such as browsers, operating systems, languages, and screen resolutions. This helps you identify which content is being used and how to better tailor your website to your visitors.
